Experience

The principles of sports physiotherapy include early assessment, management, exercise based rehabilitation and prevention. At Zone 34 we believe that these principles can be applied to people from all walks of life. We will help you get back to being active no matter the injury.

As of 2022 :

  • 5 Sports + Exercise Physiotherapists
  • Combined over 70 years clinical experience
  • Team Physiotherapists for Sydney Kings (NBL basketball) and UTS Randwick Sparks (Netball)
  • NSWIS
  • Previous roles with Rowing, NSW NPL soccer, Shute Shield Rugby, and NEAFL
Assessment:

A thorough initial consultation  spending time  to assess your symptoms, function and determine a diagnosis  is the key to developing a successful injury management plan.  Each injury is different, as is each person’s lifestyle and activity levels.

We will utilise technology to better assess your injury, function and strength.

This may include:
  • Real time ultrasound
  • EMG
  • muscle dynamometer strength testing
  • Video Analysis
Manual Therapy:

Pain can lead to altered movement patterns and muscle inhibition. Hands-on treatment can play an important role in helping reduce symptoms, reduce muscle tone and increase range of motion. Along with providing treatment during the consultation, our physiotherapists can teach you strategies to recreate the same benefits at home.

Manual therapy techniques include:
  • soft tissue releases and trigger point therapy
  • joint mobilisation
  • nerve mobilisation
  • muscle energy techniques
  • taping to unload a structure
  • stretches (static and dynamic)
Education:

We believe that by spending the time explaining the injury and what you can do to promote recovery is essential, allowing each person to take an active part in their recovery.
