Zone 34. Established 2017

The O.G. Lewisham
Founded in 2017, Zone 34 was born out of a vision to bridge the gap between elite high-performance athletic care and everyday community rehabilitation. What began as an unexpected council roadblock when trying to open at 34 Thomas Street in Ashfield turned into a blessing, leading us to build our flagship Lewisham clinic from scratch at 20 McGill Street.
"Zone" is a nod to Zone defence in sports, where each team member covers a designated area, whilst commuicating constantly and assist each other for a successful outcome. The "34" pays homage to Director Dave Hillard's basketball jersey number (inspired by Charles Barkley) and our original Thomas Street site.
We established our Lewisham clinic to give everyday patients direct access to elite-level sports technology—like VALD force plates and Wattbikes—typically reserved for professional athletes.
From day one in Lewisham, our experienced clinical leads built a supportive environment where physiotherapists and allied health specialists work together, share knowledge, and continuously improve patient outcomes.
Zone 34 is proud to partner with elite sporting organisations, university athletic programs, and premier dance institutions across Sydney. Our clinical team brings years of high-performance sports medicine directly to athletes and performers at every stage of their career.
Director Dave Hillard has worked in national and professional basketball since 2010. Zone 34 has proudly provided physiotherapy services for the Sydney Kings and Sydney Flames since 2019.
Our partnership with UTS Sport began with the UTS Sparks Netball team in 2019 and has since grown to provide physiotherapy coverage for UTS Basketball, UTS AFL, and the UTS Elite Athlete Program (EAP).
Lead dance physiotherapists Nicole Baer and Katie Godwin bring a rich history in dance medicine, working directly with The Australian Ballet, professional musical theatre productions such as Six and CATS, and leading Sydney dance schools.

In 2024, Zone 34 expanded its reach by opening our second clinic at UTS Ultimo, establishing the dedicated Active Female Hub (AFH). Spearheaded by Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist Nicole Baer, the AFH delivers evidence-based, specialised care tailored to female athletes and active women across all life stages.
Located on Level 2 of the UTS Building (745 Harris Street), our Ultimo clinic brings elite sports physiotherapy and dance medicine into the heart of Sydney’s university precinct.
The Active Female Hub focuses on female-specific sports medicine, dance rehabilitation, injury prevention, and targeted health management for active women.
By integrating sports physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, women’s health specialists, and sports dietitians, our Ultimo hub provides complete wraparound care.
At Zone 34, our values guide every interaction, treatment plan, and clinical decision we make. We are dedicated to maintaining a supportive environment that inspires confidence in our patients and team alike.
We lead by example in sports health and clinical performance, guiding both our patients and fellow clinicians with expert, innovative, and evidence-based care.
We create a welcoming, supportive space where everyone—from elite athletes to everyday community members and staff—feels valued, respected, and empowered.
We strive for the highest standards in clinical management, ongoing education, and patient outcomes, ensuring elite-level care across everything we do
