Elbow, Hands and Wrists

Injury treatment

The Zone 34 Method
Our upper limb rehabilitation framework bridges the gap between acute pain relief and optimal physical performance through a distinct, data-driven approach tailored to your specific elbow, wrist, or hand condition.
We begin with a thorough evaluation of your upper limb mobility, strength, and function to pinpoint the root cause of your pain. From here, we collaborate with you to develop a customised rehabilitation plan aligned with your daily needs and performance goals.
Your recovery involves a strategic combination of manual therapy, targeted exercises, and expert guidance to build capacity and function in your arm and hand. Where appropriate, we integrate care across disciplines, working seamlessly with Exercise Physiologists and Dietitians to support your holistic recovery.
We guide your return to normal activity, work, or sporting performance based on objective strength and functional milestones, rather than simple timeframes. This criteria-driven approach ensures you regain complete confidence and resilience in your upper limb
At Zone 34, our clinicians bring extensive experience in managing intricate upper limb conditions, helping you regain essential grip strength, dexterity, and pain-free movement for everyday life and high-level sport. From day 1 of Zone 34, way back in March 2017, our team started with Gloria Spratt, hand therapist with 25 years experience. Gloria has her finger prints all over our clinic, and has actively participated in inservices and case studies educating our team on upper limb rehabilitation.
Our hand therapist possesses a deep understanding of the complex anatomy of the elbow, wrist, and hand. We apply the latest evidence-based strategies to effectively manage acute injuries and chronic conditions alike.
We utilise advanced assessment technology to accurately measure your grip strength, joint stability, and overall upper limb capacity. This objective, data-driven approach removes the guesswork from your rehabilitation journey.
Recovering from a complex wrist or elbow injury often requires more than just standard physiotherapy. We work closely as a unified team of health professionals to support your complete physical recovery and build long-term resilience. We have close connections with sports doctors and upper limb surgeons, should onward referral be necessary.

FAQ
No, you do not need a referral from a doctor to book a consultation with our team, unless you are claiming through a specific third-party scheme like Workers Compensation or the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA).
Recovery timeframes vary greatly depending on the specific condition, its severity, and your individual health. During your initial assessment, we will provide a realistic, evidence-based timeline driven by objective clinical measures and your progress.
Many tendon and ligament injuries can be effectively managed with conservative, progressive physiotherapy. We will thoroughly assess your injury and, if surgical intervention is indicated, we will refer you to a trusted specialist for further review.
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, such as a singlet or short-sleeved shirt. This allows your physiotherapist to easily observe and access your shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand during the assessment and treatment.
Some assessment techniques and rehabilitation exercises may cause mild, temporary discomfort as we work to restore function to injured tissues. We will work closely with you to ensure all treatment remains within a tolerable limit and prioritises your safe, long-term recovery.
