Active Female Hub
Empowering Women’s Health and Active Lifestyles
Based at our Ultimo clinic, the Active Female Hub brings together a multidisciplinary team with a singular focus: the unique physiological and biomechanical needs of women and girls in sport, dance, and life.

The Zone 34 method
The Zone 34 Method is built on a foundation of evidence-based practice and comprehensive care tailored to the active female body. We focus on clear communication and a structured pathway to guide you safely from initial assessment back to peak activity.
We work closely with your broader healthcare team to ensure comprehensive management. This includes communicating effectively with endocrinologists, obstetricians, and sports physicians to ensure all aspects of your health are considered.
Your personal health and activity goals drive our treatment plans. We provide seamless, integrated care across multiple disciplines, combining the expertise of Exercise Physiologists, Sports Physiotherapists, Women's Health Physiotherapists, and Dietitians as appropriate.
We utilise objective milestones rather than guessing your readiness to progress. Our criteria-based approach ensures a safe return to activity, and we are with you for the long-haul journey to ensure lasting results.
Our multidisciplinary team provides targeted rehabilitation for a wide spectrum of female-specific health challenges, supporting women and girls across sport, dance, and everyday life.
We support your body through pregnancy and postpartum recovery, addressing abdominal separation and pelvic floor function. Our Women's Health Physiotherapists assess your readiness for load, while our Exercise Physiologists guide your safe, progressive return to running and high-impact sport.
We provide targeted management for the complex symptoms of endometriosis and pelvic pain. Our physiotherapists utilise specialised movement strategies to alleviate discomfort, while our Dietitian designs personalised nutrition plans to ensure you meet your micronutrient needs and maintain functional energy.
We deliver specialised rehabilitation tailored to the unique biomechanical demands of the artistic athlete. From managing hypermobility to optimising hip mechanics, our collaborative team ensures you build the necessary resilience and technical control to remain stage-ready and perform safely.

At Zone 34, we recognise that female health and rehabilitation require a nuanced, expert approach. That is why we created the Active Female Hub in Ultimo—a dedicated space designed to bring leading clinical providers under one roof. Conveniently servicing Sydney and the Inner West, we empower women through education, targeted movement, and comprehensive, long-term support.
Our Ultimo hub combines the specialised skills of sports physiotherapists, women's health physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and dietitians in a single, accessible Sydney location. This collaborative environment ensures your treatment plan addresses every facet of your recovery effectively, without the need to travel between multiple clinics.
We utilise objective strength testing, including force plates and hand-held dynamometry, to accurately track your recovery. This state-of-the-art technology ensures you meet critical strength milestones before safely returning to your chosen sports or daily activities.
Your rehabilitation is delivered through tailored programming designed specifically for your body and your current life stage. We avoid generic approaches, focusing instead on evidence-based strategies that safely build functional longevity for active females across Sydney and the Inner West.

The evidence-based timeline for ACL recovery generally takes 9 to 12 months.
Fueling is the backbone of recovery, and our Dietitian can provide a personalised nutrition plan to ensure you are hitting your increased caloric and micronutrient needs.
Before returning to running or high-impact sports, a consultation with our Women's Health Physiotherapist is essential to ensure your pelvic floor is ready for increased load and to prevent long-term issues like prolapse.
You should cease exercise immediately and contact a healthcare provider if you experience a heaviness or a bulge sensation in the pelvic floor, urinary or faecal leakage, or "doming" along the midline of your stomach during exercise.
