The Zone 34 Method
Our rehabilitation approach for court sports is designed to address the specific physical demands of jumping, landing, and rapid changes of direction. We guide you through a structured, multidisciplinary pathway to recovery.
We conduct a thorough clinical assessment of your injury, load history, and biomechanics to develop a tailored rehabilitation plan aligned with your specific sporting goals.
Through targeted manual treatment, specific exercises, and guidance, we help rebuild your capacity and function. We provide integrated care, collaborating with exercise physiologists, sports and exercise physiotherapists, and dietitians as appropriate for your needs.
We utilise objective testing and a criteria-based approach, rather than strict timeframes, to ensure you are physically prepared and confident for a safe return to normal activity or competitive sporting performance. Our team have extensive experience with developing rehab plans from day of injury through to successful return to play.
Zone 34 is uniquely equipped to manage the high-impact demands of basketball and netball. Our team understands the mechanics of court sports and the specific lower limb and back injuries that frequently affect players during a demanding season.
Our staff have extensive experience in professional sports, working directly with the Sydney Kings since 2019 and the Sydney Flames since 2022. We also proudly support the UTS Randwick Sparks NSW Premier League netball team, partnering with them since 2019.
Basketball and netball place immense stress on the knees, ankles, and feet through repetitive jumping and pivoting. Our facility is equipped to measure and rehabilitate the specific force production and landing mechanics required to manage conditions like ACL injuries and patella tendinopathy.
We utilise VALD force plates and performance testing equipment to accurately measure your strength and power deficits throughout your recovery. This objective data allows our multidisciplinary team to guide your progression safely back to full court intensity.

We use a battery of physical tests, including strength dynamometry and hop testing on force plates, to assess your lower limb symmetry and landing control. This helps ensure you meet strict physical and functional criteria before returning to competitive play.
Management typically involves a period of offloading from impact activities, followed by a progressive core strengthening and movement retraining program. We work closely with sports physicians to monitor healing and carefully guide the gradual return to running and jumping.
