Based at our Ultimo clinic, the Active Female Hub brings together a multidisciplinary team with a singular focus: the unique physiological and biomechanical needs of women and girls in sport, dance, and life.

From your first sports season to pregnancy, postpartum, and healthy ageing, your body changes; the Zone 34 Active Female Hub provides expert, integrated care to keep you active for life.

Navigating female-specific health challenges requires clinicians who understand and respect how every body is unique. We provide expert, targeted rehabilitation to help you move confidently and achieve your health goals, ensuring you have the right support at the exact right time.

Explore the Active Female Hub

Whether you are a professional athlete, part time dancer, a new mum wanting to get back to exercise safely or a menopausal woman wanting to continue to exercise, we support you every step of the way.

Established in 2024

Founded in 2024, the Active Female Hub was envisioned by Dance Physiotherapist Nicole Baer and Practice Manager Lora Roff—a national-level 800m runner herself. Built from a shared passion to elevate female-focused healthcare, the Hub was created to provide exceptional, multidisciplinary care specifically tailored to the unique biomechanical, hormonal, and physical demands of active women and girls.

A Dedicated Environment for Integrated Care

Designed as a specialised clinical ecosystem within Zone 34 in Ultimo, the Hub bridges the gap between rehabilitation, performance, and long-term wellbeing. By centralising our team in a single, collaborative space, our clinicians consult side-by-side rather than in isolation, ensuring seamless care transitions, shared clinical insights, and a streamlined recovery journey from day one.

Supportive and Inclusive Environment

Based at UTS, the Ultimo clinic provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable discussing their health concerns in large private clinic rooms.

Life Stages

The Active Female Hub integrates care from various expert fields, including Sport and Exercise Physiotherapy, Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, and Dietetics, to address your specific needs.

Active Female and Active Adolescent

Girls have historically been discouraged from playing sport as much as boys — often out of caution rather than necessity. We want to change that. Our specialist support for the developing female athlete focuses heavily on bone health and biomechanics, helping build a foundation for long-term physical health. By establishing strong movement patterns early, we help younger girls navigate growth spurts and safely transition into higher-level sport or dance.

Pregnancy and Post Natal

Pregnancy and postpartum have long come with a message to slow down and rest, rather than stay strong and active. We believe women deserve better guidance than "just take it easy." Our multidisciplinary team provides safe exercise progression, running guidance, and strength modifications to help you stay active and strong throughout your pregnancy. For postpartum rehabilitation, we focus on safe, progressive returns to movement — addressing pelvic floor function, core strength, and impact loading — so you can confidently return to your sport.

Menopause and Perimenopause

Menopause has too often been treated as something to simply endure, rather than a life stage to actively train through. We believe women deserve better support, not just reassurance to "push through it." We offer targeted exercise physiology, physiotherapy, and dietetics to support bone health, muscle retention, joint health, and energy management during hormonal changes. This integrated care helps you preserve functional strength and stay active through every life stage.

What We Treat

Our Ultimo hub brings together the specialised skills of multiple disciplines in a single, accessible location, ensuring your treatment plan addresses every facet of your recovery effectively. This multidisciplinary environment combines clinical expertise with an understanding of your unique physiology to deliver a comprehensive approach to female health.

Sports, Dance, and Women’s Health Physiotherapy

We actively treat pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, and pelvic pain while also providing specialised injury prevention and comprehensive rehabilitation for elite dance and athletic performance.

Sports Dietitian

We deliver expert nutritional guidance for Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), energy management during hormonal changes, GLP-1 medication (Ozempic, Mounjaro amongst others) use and performance fueling.

Exercise Physiology

We provide evidence-based strength programming to safely return you to sport postpartum, navigate bone health in adolescence, and preserve muscle tissue during perimenopause and menopause
